Filler neck/ breather tank

I was thinking about how to make a nice looking but good working catch tank.
What about making a new filler neck to the rear... next to the intake elbow.

I will use the second turbo oil return hole on the engine to vent also.
This is what I'm thinking about.
What do you guys think ?

That would probably work. I think Damian has something similar with a line coming out of his catch can going into the rear oil return hole on the engine. That way the catch can just drains back into the pan.

close but not exaclty right.... the line to there is just a vent FOR the oil pan, not a drain line TO the oil pan.

The idea is that oil never makes it to the catch can if possible...but if some does, it is held in the can, not drained back to the pan (unless the can filles up, but that is what we do not want to happen!!)

hey jeroentje.nl, if you need help on the setup let me know, I have done a LOT of testing and development on getting a setup that properly works (in racing conditions)

the design you have above has a few flaws:

- the air filter you want on the top, since it is where oil will have the least access and the air can vent with the least amount of oil with it

- the bottom should just be a drain, with a valve so that you can drain it between track session if needed, if the system is working well, then you will not have to drain it often. I have my setup workign so well that, depending on the track, I can go an entire race weekends and not have to empty the catch can, running a FULL oil pan and my car pulls 1.5Gs in the turns.

- the baffleing is actually below where you want it, you want the baffleing to be above the line entrys so that oil gets deflected back into the oil catch can, while air gets by and up to the air filter

- the oil return line is in a good place on your setup, but the filler neck vent line should also be up there, to allow venting from the filler neck when the oil return line vent is being covered by oil from slosh due to turning. Keep in mind the old oil return line is NOT used as a oil return line, it becomes a air venting location for us.

the idea is to allow the oil pan to vent in any slosh condition, thus the 2 venting locations, one take over venting when the other one is being covered in oil from oil slosh.

holla at me if you want any more help, but my write-up thread I posted above explains it all :-)
