Few Quickies

Well...before I ask anything else...I know many of you FD owners are pretty young. So tell me, what's the insurance like for someone, ohhh, say, under 20?
By that I mean full coverage...

I said many. As in, many more than I thought before I looked at this forum. I came here for an answer, not a bunch of jerks putting me down. So unless you plan to actually ANSWER the question (i.e. give me some ballpark numbers), then don't reply to the thread.

Don't post stupid questions anymore that no one can answer.
Well, I'm 19 and I pay just over 2k a year for my insurance. And Mass insurance sucks as far as rates go. I don't know who in their right mind would pay 4-6 thousand dollars a year for insurance, thats just ridiculous.

See...now this is the kind of answer I was looking for. Sorry if you guys misunderstood what I meant. I was asking for examples of what you were paying, not specifically what it would cost ME.
Anyways, thanks for the info. That doesn't seem too bad, especially for 2 cars...

This is the sort of thing I'm glad to hear. Here I thought it was going to be a lot more than that even. Puts me a little more at ease. Now that I know insurance and the price of the car aren't going to be TOO bad, it's more of a matter of me making myself set aside money for maintenance. And I WILL make myself.
I'll also make myself drive slow...maybe I should rig a system to shock me everytime I go above 65

Everyone that got on your case has already realised it's pointless to tell you theirs. In the time it took you to get someones elses quotes here, you could have had an accurate quote from your very own insurance company.
I know, I know...but I was at school and I really DO NOT feel like calling myself, and obviously couldn't have my parents call (no way of telling them at the time).
Oh well, semi-pointless but atleast now I have an idea of how BROAD a range people are paying in. lol.
Anyways...factor in the fact that I seriously doubt I would be driving AT ALL in the winter (so that knocks off like 2 or 3 months of the year...depending).
I don't think my parents will mind the insurance a LOT, because my dad has always been a big fan of RX-7's (our neighbors where we used to live bought a new one like every other year) and he'd love to drive it sometimes.
I think my only obstacle here is the car itself. Or rather, me getting used to it. I love RX-7's...and as far as my driving skill goes, I'm a pretty good driver. Keep in mind I've only had the opportunity to drive two vehicles though: a 1995 Dodge Caravan and a 1998 Plymouth Breeze. Not exactly the same as a powerhouse like the RX-7
BUT, especially with the van, I'm learning to drive the hard way (big size...as well as **** poor brakes, some of the worst I've encountered on ANY vehicle).
Not trying to make myself sound like I'm any better than I really am...just saying I'm not a bad driver, and at the same time not the worst one in the world. I know what a car like the RX-7 is capable of, and I realize the risks involved with it (especially the traction issues I've seen mentioned so many times). But I figure, as long as I obey the speed limit, don't drive when conditions aren't suitable, and practice good driving habits otherwise to keep those traction issues from being a problem, then I'm fine.
EDIT: I also don't plan on letting the mod bug get to me lol. Not just for money issues, but any mods I do will be for reliability and looks/comfort...nothing performance.
EDIT 2: Also, is there any way to counteract those traction issues at all?

You know what? **** you. All I'm trying to do is LEARN (which I can't do because you're being an ***)...if I LEARN...them maybe I won't be such a n00b. Remember, you were once a n00b, too.
And no question is a stupid one...

Learn through this tool and this thread. Every question you have right now concerning the car itself has been answered and people aren't going to jump up and answer it for the 20th time this week. When you have had alot of experienced and reached a point where you're not just bolting on mods and have new questions, people will be happy to help.
