FD won't stop running with key out... FAIL!

Hey guys, I've ran into a problem with my FD and I am looking for a little bit of help. My car had been sitting in storage inside and outside the garage and with a vented hood and sometimes in the rain... (I hate to admit this) for a few months now and I just recently went to start it up last night after buying a new battery for it online. Everything kicked on fine and the engine purred like a s3x kitten after eating oysters, so I didn't notice anything wrong with her until I pulled the key out of the ignition and let my turbo timer run down and shut off. Problem is though she kept on running and scared/shocked/surprised the hell out of me... Eventually I had to stall the car to shut the engine down but the battery kept the power on in the car, even with the ignition switch off and he key out... ???!?!??11!1

I've searched online for some answers on this forum but nothing 3rd gen specific came up, all the threads were mostly 2nd gen related concerning the alternator feeding back into the relay or what not... So I'm wondering if anyone out there has experienced any similar issues like the ones above... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

maybe your turbo timer got damaged. pull the harness of the turbo timer and then turn the key switch off to see what happens.

Yup, take the turbo timer out and that should solve you problem. Most of this type of problems is raltated to the turbo timer

This happened to me at the track, and turned out to be a short in—of all things—the fan relays. I pulled the main fuse for them, and the car would shut off properly. Once I replaced the relay harness, everything was normal.

^^^

I wish my memory was better about how the circuit works, but I was working frantically in the pits. It could be your turbo timer, but it could also be the ignition switch, I think they are prone to go bad.

I had at least a little hint, because one of the fan relays was buzzing.
