FL FD Wheel Well cleaning

Spent yesterday trying to clean out the FD's wheel wells in preparation for the suspension rebuild but there are areas that did not come clean even while using my trusty P21 body wash and brake cleaner. Is this a coating that is not meant to come off or is there another alternative? would love to have all the body color or maybe paint it with black chasis paint? Opinions welcome.

Naw. For the amount of work it took, the results were not great. Thats how it looked after P21 and a toothbrush X3!! I expected better. I suspect that the P21 is too mild. Hit it with the pressure washer as well....

Is it possible that rather than dirty, it's just a lack of paint to start with? Under hood and areas like this didn't get a ton of attention or clear coat from the factory.

So the wells would have been painted black from the factory?

Thanks

I think what you are seeing is the undercoating that was sprayed on before paint. That's why it's so textured. I could be wrong though, just ask my wife, lol.
