I was flipping through a magazine and saw an rx7 that they put an rx8 front end on, and also put the rx8 steering wheel. I emailed the company but the email address they listed did not work. Anyone know what you have to do to make it work? Also i was wondering if you bought the HKS sequential transmission could the paddles on the rx8 wheel be made to work?

Personally i have not yet installed an aftermarket wheel. The reason being that i will not yet remove my air bag until i upgrade the seat belts to racing harness's. The reason for this is if i do get hit, i really dont want to hit the steering wheel with my head. As for the wheels that you guys are choosing, how come none of you guys choose an offset wheel instead of one of those quick release. Like one of these?

I have the nardi one in my ae86 with the longest hub nardi makes and its really nice. Not sure what path i'll take. Post more pictures of wheel setups guys!!!

NRG quick release only contains a pass-through electrical line for the horn. Your hub needs to support connecting to the car side for the horn and/or airbag resistor. What hub did you use?

Most likely it's a universal hub so it won't come with the airbag resistor. Basically, you just take the wiring from the airbag and wire a resistor in to it. The horn wire you just pass through the quick release to the steering wheel. Both wires run through the center of the clock spring.

My airbag light is on and my horn works but i relocated the button to a different spot. I couldnt get the horn to work with the quick release hub. I mean i couldnt keep it functioning with the quick release hub.

Anyone know what resistance is needed to fool the sensor? I could grab and ohm meter and test the airbag but am a little hesitant to do that. *Boom*

Any info on how to make the horn work would be great...
My son installed an NRG quick release and Nardi wheel but no resistor was included with the kit or instructions.
Also, how do you install the horn when everything is connected to that control module that gets removed from the column.

Thanks
Joe

I just got a Nardi Deep Corn Rally 330 mm.

I know the FD OEM Size is close to 360 mm (same as GTR). The 330 mm is slightly smaller, feels more "controllable". The deep corn actually pushes the "disk" of the wheel out more (i prefer this).

I just was never a sparco or momo steering wheel fan. I prefer Nardis and Personals. I will probably end up using a SPLASH hub.

But my favorite steering wheel for the FD is the Nardi . I think Gene and goodfella have them on their cars right?

Love mine... just installed it earlier this week. IMO, stock wheel is way outdated for the car
Install took about 25 mins from start to finish. Easier than I thought it'd be

Yep, keeping the airbag is kind of important to me. Go with the 99 Nardi.

Yup, I do have the Nardi, same one that runyun posted above. I just picked up a different wheel that has red stitching to use with the Nardi airbag......my interior now sports Spirit-R shift ****, ebrake handle and boot and (leather replica) shift boot to go along with the seats

Thumbs up

Here's a shot I took today with the newly installed Spirit R parts, A red-stitched steering wheel is next (using the same airbag).

I run a Personal Grinta 330 coupled to a Works Bell regular hub. As for seats, I'm on Recaro SPG w/ Nagisa rails but they don't sit as low as I hoped.

Very nice set up. Did you go with the true grayish boots or black copies?

I have the Spirit R shift **** and e-brake but stayed with the Redline boots in black, they match my cars interior and the black of the Spirit R ****/handle better than the org. Spirit R grey boots

What no Spirit R gauge cluster? I would buy it in a minute, except I have an aversion to light colors in the line of sight.
