FD Shell or Complete Car

Right now I am looking to find an rx7 that is right for me. I have found alot of cars that need new motors for inexpensive prices, alot of cars with high mileage, and alot of cars with low mileage and high pricetags. Right now I am thinking of either getting a Low mileage rx7 for between 14-17k or getting a shell for between 6-10k (according to prices I have seen as of late). I just want to get everyones input on which would be the better choice. If I should get a shell and then purchase a motor or to just to spend teh extra cash to get a low mileage car. By low mileage I mean between 30-65k, high mileage is about 65k+. Thanks for any input!

Go to this website and read all about how to find a good rx-7 whether you go for low mileage or high.
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/l...ite/rx7faq.htm

Also be patient when looking and dont get over anxious. You can find good deals out there especially if you know what to look for and this site helps out alot. I bought my 93 rx-7 for 7.9k and nothing except the spark plugs was wrong with it. Had 110k on the body and not sure of mileage on engine but ran strong with a good compression.

Once you do find your car and if you buy it, go to this website and look at the reliability mods. Also do a search in this 3rd generation forums for "reliability mods". Those will be things you will want to do to the car to ensure longer lasting. The first link also has reliaibility mods listed as well.

One more thing: Do a search for reman/rebuild, find a complete breakdown of what it costs to rebuild engines/turbos or to buy a reman. That way you also know what kind of price to go by if the car is missing an engine or may need rebuilding.

Hope this info helps and goodluck
