FD question
Hello everyone,
I'm currently looking to get a 91 - 94 RX7 and have a general RX-7 question:
What is the difference between the different types in the rx7?
I heard that type A is 2 seats manual, type B is 4 seats manual, and type C is 4 seats automatic for the Spirit R
Oh yeah, is there a difference Spirit R and Type R?
I've seen type X on an import website as well...what could that be?
thanks for your help

Well, you're talking about Japanese models, which you most likely won't be picking up in Canada. So the question is moot.
If you think you're gonna import a Japanese FD, do some reading - it's pricey, complicated, and it's been beaten to death. Buy a nice North American car and have fun.

From what I've heard, it's easy to import vehicles that are at least 10 years old into Canada. This is how a lot of Canadians are driving S13 Silvias and R32 Skylines.
If my info is correct, the Canadian boys should be able to import any Japanese RX-7 built before 1996. Here's an old thread that describes the RX-7's sold in Japan.

thanks for the link
it's funny cuz i'm almost like that guy asking the question on that thread since i was choosing between a R32 (finally legit in Canada since 2005...it's a 16-year rule) and an FD.
note that the site i was visiting http://www.terra2imports.ca/
the price they put is the price you pay unles there is some modification required to the car to comply with provincial (or regional) laws. In other words, the price is pretty much the cost of the car + deregistration + shipping + customs + registration + vin application + their cost of 1000$ and taxes.
