FD my abs & battery light come on randomly, bad alternator?

FD, my abs & battery light come on for 2 3 minutes then goes way then comes back. I think my alternator is messed up?

I tried running the car with battery disconnected and cur shuts off as soon as one of the battery terminals is removed, indicating a bad alternator.

Is there anything else that it could be? Where is the battery charging circuit on an FD?

I would just replace the alternator but its polished to match my engine so it kinda sucks replacing it with a stock looking one.

Its the alternator, get it replaced. Would be a nice time to upgrade or at least get one with a polished housing or powdercoated housing.

This used to be a great test to perform back in the day before cars were loaded with electronics.

Performing this test on a car with a ton of electronics you run the risk of damaging one of the computers. The disconnection can create a voltage irregularity, plus the battery acts as a sort of filter to cut down on electrical noise.
