FD Ignition rewire

I remember reading somewhere on here (cant find it again) that just like the fuel pump, the power for FD ignition (igniter and coils) system passes through the ignition switch which may result in a drop in power. Is this true? Does anyone rewire their IG system to ensure proper power to the igniter and coils? Are there any write up on here for this, and are there any benifits?

Thanks
