FD has me scratching my skull...
two weeks ago i posted saying that there was s grind coming from my Trans. well i didnt have time to check it out but wile attempting to start my car, it would not turn over so i said lets try again and when i depressed the clutch pedal the car began to crank but would not start. this is all with out me turning the key. its just in the on position. so now everytime i go to start the car it will crank when i depress the clutch but will not turn over. im mind boggled

Sounds like the starter solenoid is permanently stuck in the "engaged" position. This may mean that a voltage signal to the solenoid from the ign switch is not needed to crank, and when you press the clutch, the clutch switch completes the circuit. The grinding is (was) the starter pinion contacting the ring gear, also due to the solenoid being stuck in the engaged position.
Another thought - the ign switch is broken, keeping the solenoid energized and engaged w/o turning the switch. This may be the more likely cause.
