FD guys help... power plant frame nut stuck on stud.
I'm helping a friend of mine get his FD back into running shape but it needs some help currently.
Right now tackling the PP frame and the diff bushings. Exhaust came off no problem. Rear PP bolts came right out. The lower front PP nuts came right off, along with one of the studs.
The upper front PP bolts however were a total bitch. The one towards the front of the car broke free I think and will come out. The one towards the rear of the car however is spinning in place. Spent a good 10 minutes w/ a 3 foot long breaker bar turning it slowly and the nut didn't appear to be any further out from the body of the car.
Went at it w/ an impact gun and it turned it slowly (maybe 30rpm) but the nut still does not look any farther from the body.
Would something like Craftsman Bolt-Out (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00952165000) be the right tool for the job in this case?
Being very cautious as this isn't my car and I want to get the cracked PP out of there!

Sounds like somebody stripped the fastener last time it was installed. I would keep tryig to remove it by prying under it with something as you twist. If that doesn't work I'm afraid you're going to have to cut it off.
