FD Gas Mileage
Just curious... on a FULL gas of tank, about how many miles do you guys get on your FD in city driving? (including occassional highway to get to work of course) I was just wondering since I have been noticing that maybe I have been getting less than average MPG lately... that maybe I have a bad O2 sensor, plugs, etc...
I usually fill up when the needle is below 1/4, and I usually get around 250 - 275 miles on the tank. My driving style consists of occassionally hard boosting (~7K), but mostly mild mannered. Is my mileage something I should be concerned about? Thanks...

Whats your exact MPG?
At 1/4, I'm usually between 200-230. REALLY depends how much city vs. how much highway driving.
I usually don't drive the FD to "Cruise" though, only if I can be "Spirited" some of the way out.
If you are between 16-18mpg you're fine. Well, depending on how modified your car is.

I just posed the question to check whether I should be investigating further... Should I bother getting a new O2 sensor? I think if it's bad, doesn't the check engine light come on? I guess I'm with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

So does that mean that getting 250 on 3/4 of a tank, while boosting, idling is actually pretty good??? WOOOHOOO to me then!

Fill up, top out. (Hit your trip to 0)
Drive.
Fill up, top out again.
Divide Miles traveled (230-250?) by gallons used (check the pump, silly) and viola!
230-250 at 1/4 tank left is average and very good.
I've priced out an 02 Sensor and...well...don't get it. LOL. If you're averaging 16-18mpg with mixed driving you are fine, "Ain't Broke, Don't fix it" as you said...

Ive gotten over 340 miles on a tank before....once My average is 280-300 though, with mostly highway/little city driving with the occasional exercise of the cars power. Average I get 16-20 mpg with a mostly stock car (almost same mods as you RX). So IMO you're fine.

My first car consistently did 220 miles on a full tank with a stock ECU and regular urban driving.
My current car did 250-300 miles with the stock ECU and now does 230ish with the Mine's ECU.
When I go to 13psi of boost I will let you know the difference in consmption.

FWIW, I averaged about 11-13 mpg in town and 20-21 on the highway.

i get about 11-13 city driving and about 16-18 highway on a ported motor and single turbo without boosting, using 750cc and 1680cc inj.
i dont want to think how fast the needle will fall when i get the car tuned and start flooring and hitting high rpm
