fd fuelpump

I'm replacing the fuel pump in my FD with a Denso.
So in the Workshop Manaul page F-102. There is an O ring that needs to be replaced. I got my pump out but didn't see any O ring. I'm puzzled now.

Do I need this part? My car been running all this time without it.

I am guessing the ring is on the fuel pump end that plugs into the bell shaped end pf the fuel line, it should be used with a high pressure pump to hold the pressure from leaking out .Get a new o ring you DO need it
