FD Fuel Gauge bottomed out. HELP!

Ok so my fuel gauge has bottomed out and i can't figure out why. So i am asking you guys for some help.

Things i've checked.
1. bought a new level sensor
2. tried 3 different gauges (when plugged up they just go past the empty line)
3. tried a volt meter to check the sensor and the wiring from the front to the back.
4. searched all wires behind panel in rear

etc.. catch22 and i are stumped.. Any suggestions?

Car is a wiring nightmare. Had a 20b in it and they snatched out everything it seemed. Think my abs box is missing in the back.. WTF. lol. Just crazy fellas..

Help me please. Thanks.

Just adding this, car has dual walbros in a custom made assembly using -6 feed and return lines. The pump itself has been rewired using a relay that pulls 12v and a switched 12v from the relay that sits by the abs computer in the rear of the car on the left side. The fuel pump assembly doesnt have a ground tab on it for the black ground wire on the fuel pump harness. (I grounded this and still no change) Also on the white fuel pump connector the white/red striped wire that usually powers the pump is cut. Since the gauge works off resistance and is bottomed all the way out there was to be a short somewhere thats causing too much resistance. We tried more than on cluster also, no bueno.

It's the ground on the housing assembly.

Mine did the same thing, except it broke off when I replaced my fuel pump and had the same problem, fuel gauge sitting at rock bottom.

Hey Neal,

fixed mine this evening. i pulled my assembly from the tank and lifted the float...Full registered. let it down =Empty Installed it back into the tank and it bottomed out again. Looked around inside and the baffle that sits closest to the float broke loose and "pinned" the float down. I pushed the baffle plate over and it works as before..

time to swap in a good tank I guess. Hope that helps you out. Not sure if you guys are testing it out of the tank.
