fd emission question
Hi since I am going to single turbo and I do plan on using a borg warner s366 turbo with probably a 1.10 a/r is there any suggestions for passing emissions. Luckily I do not have a visual inspection but they will use an exhaust sniffer so should I use a removable cat as well as a electric air pump like an rx8 air pump also what about using e85 any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thats quite a lot of questions there.
-Have you researched E85?
-Have you researched electric air pumps?
I would go do some background reading around the topics you're interested in, and maybe find someone in your state who runs a single turbo FD and has managed to pass it through emissions.
I am in Australia, but I have lived in the US for a period. I remember emissions testing. We dont have that BS here in Australia

i would do the removable cat and Rx8 airpump.
the stock emissions system routes the air pump air into the exhaust ports, and i would do this as well, although its might be hard with aftermarket fuel rails.
mixture from 1100rpm to 3200rpm, OR 1psi, is 14.7:1. sometimes it helps to be slightly richer. idle timing is just where it runs the best.
timing at idle should be stock, and then from 1100-3200rpm, in the low load parts should be conservative, i'd think the PFC map is about right
for the resume; i've lived in CA my whole life, and i smog 6-8 cars a year
