fan relay - jumpered

I found out that I have a jumper in place of my fan relay. Anyone know why this would be there instead of the relay? Mazda put in a reman before I owned the car. RP replaced the front oil cover. But I don't see why either of them would do this.

Any ideas?

I have the same thing in one of my cars. At one point in its' life, it had a PFS ECU (purple box) which I recall hearing something about many years ago that the fan relay bypass was to allow the PFS system to control when then came on. Can't confirm this, just what I recall.

I found out about the PFS ECU because there is a hole in one of my rear bins and the connector and wire were poking through. I guess that is where the ECU's were mounted. The wire was routed up under the center console. I ended up pulling it out.

If it makes you feel better...my radio relay in the fuse box is jumpered like this. Haven't bothered to replace it...no idea why it would be.
