fan relay box relocation?
fan relay box relocation?
Does anyone have any info on how to relocate this box towards the fender? I assume people just cut the wires and resoldered after extending? I have a vmount coming in and was just curious before I start hacking wires.

i turn it on the side.i am planing a v mount also . the box is still accesible and i cut and solder the wires.
i tried to make a room at the right side of the car for a custom made intake box .i will use the brackets that hold the box to hold that intake box too.

I think this is one of those ongoing debates. Some people swear by soldering, others crimping, some do both.
I don't trust my soldering on everything so I'd crimp personally. Just be sure to use the adhesive lined shrink wrap.

I do both, with the sealant lined heat shrink tubing.
Works wonderfully for most scenarios. Otherwise, I use electrical tape and a couple small zip ties to keep it from ever unraveling

Wow thanks guys. Great to get some input, as I always like double checking with the forums before jumping into action.
My plan for wire extention is to use all metal crimpers and then fill it with solder. This should form a very strong bond.
I assume I need to get the sealant lined heat shrink from a company like summit?
