Just wondering if anyone had a problem with faded engine bay paint? I have a VR '93 Rx and under the hood, the paint looks almost pink. I was thinking this could be caused from excessive heat under the hood. Also, I was wondering if it was possibly oxidation and if so, what type of polishes could be used to restore the paint.

Haven't ever seen that. Usually the paint in the engine compartment lasts longer than the stuff on the hood.

It may have been repainted.

I have a white 94 Touring and the paint in the engine bay looks faded/discolored. It's more of a beige color now.

Mine was pinkish till I painted it. Well, not really pink but it was faded. I don't think Mazda uses clear coat in the engine bay. I took off the red from my engine bay in just one or two strokes with 600 grit, that's not much on there

 

How much did that cost?? Did you have to take the engine out??
