Factory Alarm - I've searched

Hey guys,

I know many have tried to disable the factory alarm and such.

What I need is to confirm the location of the factory alarm module.

Is it located in the center console above the transmission tunnel?

Reason I asked was I finally get to replace the carpet on my FD and there was this module sitting there behind center console, wires were cut, and there was an antenna that's grounded to it.

So my question is, can I just remove this complete unit? Would it affect my door locks? (I.E. if lock my driver side door, will the passenger door lock also?)

Please chime in as I want to get rid of this thing that's just hanging there hogging room.

Here's a picture of the module with 38pins. Thanks much!

I was always under the impression that the factory security system was part of CPU #2 hence the difficulty in removing it.

I may be absolutely wrong and that doesn't look like an OEM piece that you are holding...once again I may be absolutely incorrect.

That is not a stock piece. It's probably for an old car phone with that large wire with BNC connector on the left.

Yes, the factory alarm is part of CPU #2. It could probably be disabled by removing some input to it so it doesn't think the doors are locked and it never arms.
