Extrude Hone and Jet Hot UIM & LIM

Got my manifolds back from Extrude Hone and Jet Hot. Very nice work by Extrude Hone, but I can't get the pics to upload. Have nice pics of the runners, if someone can tell me how to post them.

Extrude honing should be awesome on the manifolds for better air flow. Wish I had did it to mine.

Go to extrudehone.com, or maybe search here. It is a machining process where the abrasive is suspended in a fluid, enabling polishing, deburring, etc. in castings that would be difficult to do by hand. They also gasket match the ports. I have no before/after data, as they aren't installed yet.

how much did each process cost? did they do any before and after flow testing?

i think it would be very difficult to get comparison on intake temps as most people here measure intake temps before they hit the intake manifold. iirc....

If they did any testing, they didn't tell me. The woman who replied to my inquiry told me to expect 15-20% increase in HP; when I talked to the guy in charge, I told him how impressed I was with that He revised it to 15-20 HP.
Don't know cost exactly; I'll know when I get the credit card bill.
I'll have an idea about intake temps. since I've taken some notes. Problem is, I am also modifying my IC and adding a phenolic spacer at the same time, so I won't know how much to attribute to what.

so pretty much if you alredy had your UIM and LIM polished you would have to polish them again after you do this.

Depending on which Jet Hot Coating you choose, it looks polished. It also has much better thermal properties.

To get the complete effect you should JH all non-radiating metallic portions in the intake path. Although even doing just a couple will probably have a noticable effect on intake charge temps.

I'm looking forward to any charge temp stats you can give us after installation.

yeah, I got a quote quite a while back; considered having it done when I put the motor in. Extrude hone is the real deal, it just came down to me not spending the money

Make sure you port match your gaskets or its all a waist. Actually your could probably just get by with using just some ultra grey sealer

for the price i'm not all that impressed....

but it looks good nonetheless, i'd say you could have a custom LIM/UIM made out of tubular aluminum for that price
