Question Extra part, please help identify

This may not even be from my 3rd gen, but I have the tranny out and apart and found this piece nearby. Does any one recognize it? I think it may be a distributor part from my 68 vette which is also apart or maybe from my 2nd gen which is also apart...

ps I'm not talking about the paper clip

Thanks, Jim

Excellent pic.

I'm nearly positive that isn't from a FD or FC.
