Explain This Injector Thing to Me
My injector duty cycles are getting pretty high, like 90-95%. I am thinking I need to upgrade my secondaries soon. I know I will need a fuel pump, and I am getting one in the next week or so. Here are my questions:
1. Are the Nippondenso 1300cc Sidefeed injectors a drop in replacement for the secondaries?
2. What are the drop in replacements?
3. Will the EFI PMS be able to handle upgraded injectors?
Someone please help me out, I cant seem to find the answers.

1. The 1300cc injectors are the same stock 850cc injectors bored out for larger size. So yes they drop back in, they are the same externally. Check out http://www.rceng.com/ for more info.
2. 1300cc is the largest you can have them bored out to, if you want larger you have to upgrade your fuel rail to accomodate top feed 1500-1600cc injectors by bosch.
3. I have heard of people running the PMS (EFI brand) computer with larger injectors, but you have to really adjust the maps. Check with Nick at http://www.n-tech.net I think he has done this and can give you more information on what needs to be done.

Thanks Hapa, thats exactly what I was looking for.
j9fd3s: What did that have to do with anything?
Thanks again. I think I will be upgrading to 1300 cc pretty soon. Know about how much it is, and about how long it takes to install?

RC charges $175 per injector. I think Tony at http://www.rxecret7.com was running a special for $140. I'm not recommending Tony, just telling you his price. I have never dealt with him so I can't say how he is. You can have them overnighted to R.C. if you need to total turnaround is usually 3 days. To install or change injectors takes a LONG time. You have to remove everything to get to them, but changing them is the easy part. Let me know if you have any more questions.
