Exhaust Temperatures

Ok so I just got this car and long story short, its running rich. I am going to get it tuned in Kannapolis NC which is about 5 hours away. I want to drive the car there but I would like a reference on how hot most peoples exhaust temperatures are running so that if somewhere along the ride the exhaust gets too hot I can pull over and let it cool for awhile without breaking/melting/blowing something up. Right now the car currently runs around 1k degrees Fahrenheit and quickly cools when I let off the accelerator. Anyone with an EGT gauge who can tell me their normal temps would be appreciated.

I got a dual EGT gauge that ranges from 1300 - 1900+ F

Casual driving its generally 1100-1400 Under acceleration or RPMs above 3,500 It can be between 1600 ~ 1900.

The Front Rotor tends to get hotter quicker than the rear rotor on my setup but the variance is never more than 100~200.

I get nervous when it reaches 1100 and start to coast around to keep it cooler. I suppose I am fine then to make the drive then. Thanks for the response.
