exhaust question

What is the purpose for using 2.5 and 3 piping on an exhaust? I just received an Apexi exhaust that is from downpipe pack but it's 2.5 in from downpipe to presilencer and 3" from presilencer to muffler. I would think it's better to make a 3" all the way through wouldn't it?

You sure it's that size? Have you measured it?

The N1 uses Apexi's "megaphone" design, which steps up in piping size to increase flow, in theory.

Is it optimal? Probably not. Does it make more power than stock? Yep.

BTW, the pipe size should be 70mm at the smallest, which isn't too shabby.
