Exhaust Question

Hi All, I have a 93 touring with a M2 DP & an RE Intake system. The car has a non OEM muffler on it ( was there when I bought it ) which is starting to rust. I'd like to put another on, but I'm not sure which one. I have a couple of requirnments. First, I don't want to spend a whole lot on it right now, & also I'm still running on the stock ECU & this would put at the 3 mod rule for upgrading ECU. Since I can't get an upgraded ECU yet either, I'm wondering if I'm just better off going OEM from the cat back until I can get a new ECU. Any suggestions?

Don't worry about the fairy tale "3 Mod Rule". You'll be fine adding a catback. Just keep an eye on the boost level.

As far as which one? Check the sticky at the top which deals with the various exhausts:

There is the HKSA Exhaust. Just like the HKS but only 280 dollars, and fully SS.
From my experience I was disappointed how quiet it was with my cats still on. Also it has the large ricer tip on it. I'm not that fond of that.
Without the cats, it's loud. Not N1 Exhaust loud, but still quite loud.
Racing beat, and M2 make some nice factory looking, but still relatively quiet exhausts for 500 range. Most of the other exhausts I've seen have been in the 450-500 range really. Hope this helps.
Guys help me out.

Thanks for the reply.. I'm not that concerned about the sound ( although the local PD might be ) , so I'll keep that in mind.
