TX Exhaust Question

I have the Fujitsubo Jasma Exhaust and it has something in the middle of the exhaust that is spring loaded and held down by a hex nut. I was wondering if that was a silencer or it was designed like that for a purpose. Can't find any information online. If anyone knows about this please chime in.

First off, JASMA is a certification body in Japan, they test exhausts for noise level and other things, that's all the JASMA badge means.

That's some sort of active silencer, I know Apexi made an exhaust like that as well. It stays closed under light load to stay quiet, and opens up (spring loaded) at full load for louder sound and more power.

Thanks Dale, I knew what the Jasma badge meant, i just stated in there to let people know the type of exhaust. I was wondering if i can remove the whole thing to have no "active silencer"
