yes, the cats can be gutted and it will help the car breath better..But becareful about you boost levels! If you need more info on this do a search!

It's all dependent on your car, but if you don't have an aftermarket tuned ECU for the higher boost your engine will be short lived. If you don't have one better get a boost controller.

Search threads on the pros and cons of a midpipe. I think the needed precautions for boost creep are similar.

IMHO, it's just dumb to ruin a perfectly good cat. Save the punched-out cats for crappy cars.

If you'd like to try going catless, buy a midpipe. I bought one for $40 on Ebay - they're dirt cheap.

If you have a stock ECU, I would NOT touch the main cat. That's a recipe for a blown motor. Do some reading on the topic.
