Exedy Stage 3 Ceramic Disc Replacement
I recently purchased an FD with an Exedy stage 3 ceramic disc. The clutch is extremely grabby and is not real pleasant to drive around with. With this pressure plate could I just replace the disc with stage 1 without problem. Or do I have to buy an entire kit. If I can just buy a replace the disc where would I buy one?
Thanks

Not enough to warrant the stage 3. Just front mount, downpipe, catback, intake and pfc. Do you know if any clutch disc can be replaced for another or is it dependent on the pressure plate's manufacturer. All I know is I have had some nasty clutches and this one takes the cake for not being liveable on a daily driving basis.

sorry to hear about your clutch problems.
i run the Exedy Hyper Single and really like it. i happen to have an Exedy catalog so i took a look for the "stage 3" and find it is another name for the Hyper Single.
the Hyper Single is an expensive high tech clutch meant for 450+ rwhp. you don't need it. i find mine easy to drive. it has a sprung hub and is Exedy's own patented cerametallic compound. yours could well be out of friction material and in need of repair. you can just buy a new disc if you wish.
i suggest you remove it, inspect it, replace the disc and sell it to someone w the need for such a clutch. the clutch package ( flywheel, cover and disc ) retails at approx $1000.
then, buy yourself a conventional setup w an organic disc. since the Exedy flywheel is purpose built it will only go w the rest of the Exedy package.
