Question evil twin article

Has anyone out there read the "evil twin" article in the January 2003 issue of Turbo & high-tech performance?

According to the article, this 94 "7" is making 420 hp on a stock motor and stock turbo's. How is this possible? Is it even possible without eventually blowing the motor?

Here is the link to the magazine, don't know if you can read the article though: turbomagazine.com

I saw the article but I didn't pay too much attention to it. It was supposedly in import tuner too.

The numbers are probably at the crank, subtract between 15-20% (depending on how generous you think he was) for what the #'s on the dyno were.

To continue on the crank vs wheels tangent: I would think that a straight percentage of drive-train loss can't be correct. I would think the loss to be a constant. Just because you have more crank HP doesn't mean the axles start weighing more etc.???

It is a condition known as "A man with more money than sense"

It is easy to take your car down to a shop, give them 25k and say, "Make this car a show winner"

There can be no pride in this. What do you say, "I know my car is cool, but I don't know what the f^&), because someone else built it.

Every post I have read so far in my short time on this forum illustrates that we all take pride in what we own, build, and create. Hats off to you all who have not done what this guy has done.

Yeap 420hp at 17psi is a lot for a stock motor, injectors, turbos even with race gas.Wonder how long the engine or the turbos will last.
