Evans coolant questions, please help

I installed evans coolant and then did this little test strip to tell if the coolant was okay, well it turned out not okay. I must no have got out all the water, what do I do now? Should I buy there flush stuff or just use enviro safe stuff? The instructions say it isn't compatable with the envirosafe stuff.

Thanks for the help

Major bummer. I had a some contamination, and just decided to get all new stuff. Kinda expensive, but now my car has 0 cooling problems (knock on wood!) with the stock radiator and 400rwhp. CJ

edit: You could remove much as possiable, and boil the water/old antifreeze off.

How do I boil it off? Put it on the stove? What if I drained the majority (ratiator, not block) of coolant out and put fresh stuff in? DO you think this would work?

Thanks

There is a procedure to boil off the water in the system but I don't think it's worth the hassle.

Call Rob at pineapples or do a search.

The other alternative is to use a wet/dry vaccuum to vaccum the whole system and then fill again. Even after you've vaccummed everything out, run the vaccuum for another 10-15 minutes (close all other opening to the cooling system). Wait a day or too, do it again and then fill.

I decided to call Evans directly to talk about this. He said that they have been having problems with those test strips coming negative. He told me to send him a sample of the coolant and he will test it for me. He was very nice and helpful with some other questions I had.

One concern that I had was the freeze point of the NPG-R only being –10. He said that this would only be a concern if the car were driven in the winter. He said that the coolant doesn’t expand when frozen so there isn’t the same concern as with water. He said that it wouldn’t be a problem as long as the car isn’t started when it is below –10.

The other question I asked him was about the higher temps you might see from Evans. He said that the temps should only be slightly higher due to the fact that the coolant is pulling more heat out of your engine and storing it in the coolant. It makes sense; to bad there isn’t a way to measure the block temp with and without coolant.

After talking to him and reading all the info on the forum and grassroots, I feel confident that this coolant is the way to go for my application.
