Engine Temps..How high is too high and what is normal?
I don't have a water temp gauge, but i do have an EGT gauge. Which is better for monitoring your FD's temperatures? Everyone talks about xxx°F being high or xxx°F being normal. Are those temps read on a Aftermarket WATER TEMP gauge or EGT gauge? and what are the correct temps? (normal and too high) thanks!
The EGT(exhaust gas temperature) gauge has no bearing on the engine temps, it tells you weather your running rich or lean, hot exhaust gas=lean, cool exhaust gas=rich. As for water temps, you should run between 198-210F. Going near or over 230F is tempting fate.

I recommend the Greddy 60mm gauge w/ peak/hold ability as well as warning light. max temp is 150 C(302 F), and I love mine because I can set it to light-up at whatever temp I want so I don't need to look at it all the time. The warninig light is a nice feature.
