Engine Swap Cost

Flame me if you like, but I would prefer you didn't.

How much would it cost to swap the engine in an FD?

New engine? Used engine? Rebuilt engine?

Self-labor? Have a shop do it?

Turbos?

Thanks.

If you're talking about the labor for taking out an old engine and installing a new one, probably $1000-1500.

I replaced mine myself, put in a good set of used turbos ($400), replaced clutch and flywheel (SR 9.5lb flywheel ACT clutch) and some other doo dads and it totalled about $5000.

5 grand and you did all the labor yourself? Is your motor pretty built up (3mm apex seals, ported, etc...)?
