I used a few pieces of 2" angle. The first piece was vertical about 6 or 8 inches long, with 2 holes drilled for the large studs on the front iron. The second piece about 3 or 4 inches, was welded horizontally at 90 degrees to the first piece so that it stands off from the first piece and forms a T. The last piece is welded to the second piece and is about 10 inches and bolts directly to the face of the engine stand adapter. When I bolted this to the engine stand, I used the top horizontal slotted holes. This allowed me to slide the engine back and forth to get the correct balance. The angle I used was 1/4". I think 1/8" would be too thin.
If you need a picture pm me with your email and I will send you one tomorrow.
