Engine Stalling
Hey all,
thought i'd take the rexxie out today for a spin, as usual no problems starting, ran fantastically for about 8 miles.
then i went round a roundabout and the engine stalled, i didn't have any other wierd electrical problems accompanying this cut out unlike last week when the indicator and headlights went a bit haywire.
had to coast over to the side of the road, when i tried to start the engine just turned over and over and petrolly smoke puffed out the exhaust.
i don't like to keep cranking in this situation in case it floods, so i leave it for a couple of minutes completely off and then it will start fine, perhaps with a little splutter!
i have also noticed when activating the popup headlights, the instrument panel lights and the stereo lights will dim slightly.
anyone offer any suggestions?

Another update:
had another engine cut out this morning on the way to work, started up OK this time straight away!
it just seems to choose when it wants to cut out, can't figure it out.
Anyway it's going off the road now for a bit so i'll get a chance to check all the earth straps, TPS, fuel etc.

The instrument panel dimming is normal when you run the headlight motors. Try running your window motors at the same time and you will see a similar current draw, evident through the dimming of lights. It is hard to know if you are having fuel or ignition issue based on the information given.

Hey up,
took her out tonight for a spin, no cutting out, however strange issue again with the headlight, passenger side not 'popping up' and indicate left flashing fast.
surely all pointing to an electrical issue?
