engine shipping...what freight company?

Hey guys this is sort of in the wrong section but I don't f4eel like the lounge can get you much useful info. I have a 3rd gen engine to ship. Its a long block minus the turbos and does not have a transmission bolted to it. I guestimate around 250lbs. What is the cheapest frieght shipping company?

250lbs maybe if you don't have accesories on it. Add in 50lbs or so for a crate.

Try your local yellow pages, seriously. If the company isn't local then it'll cost you more to drive to a "cheaper" freight company.

There is a company called SAIA.. Also you might want to consider the UPS Logistics..

J & L carriers is who is used to ship my engine. They were pretty cheap. Theses are the guys that the Gotham Racing told me to use.

Some shipping company will give you a big discount if you ship to or bill to a business address. When I shipped mine, the shop owner told me to use his address for billing. It saved me roughly 50% on shipping.
