Question Engine selling question

I am planning to get a Ls1 to put into an FD however it is hard to find a good shell so my question is

if i were to buy a FD with a rebuild engine with low miles on it how hard would it be to sell the engine? and how much would it sell for?

Thanks

You have to prove that the engine is "good". i.e. get a real compression test done on the engine before you remove it. With known compression numbers, your sale will happen much more quickly.

However, if you don't have compression numbers, you most likely won't get a lot out of the motor unless you part it out. The reason is people aren't likely to buy a motor of unknown condition for a lot of money (unless its JDM! J/K'ing).

If it's just a used stock ported engine, I would wager you could get about $1500-1800 for it with decent compression. A ported motor with good compression will draw more money.
