Engine Removal Tips

I would like to know a couple things about removing a motor. Is it easy? Is there any websites that show step by step? I really need to save money so I am going to do everything myself. I would appreciate some help thanks!

Do not strip any bolts, screws, ect.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use only the sockets with six or is it five points(I can't remember), the other tend to slip easier.

It's pretty simple. A word of advice dont take it off with the trans, leave that in the car. And label everything and keep bolts in seperate baggies with labels. It takes longer to do it that way, but it will save you a ton of headaches when you re-install the engine.
Also dont forget to pop off the release collar on the pressure plate when you seperate the trans the engine.
Good luck and have fun

Do a search, I did a half assed decent write up a while back.

I'd recommend pulling the motor with the trans on.

No need to buy one.
You can download one from www.iluvmyrx7.com
But if you really want to buy it www.racingbeat.com sells them i think or www.mazdatrix.com

Removing the engine isn't too hard, just time consuming. I find it easier to seperate the engine and tranny rather then pulling them together.

are you the guy that had an rx7 and then sold it to buy a primered supra? I will be happy to help you in any way i can since I am close to ya. Ive pulled an FD motor before and they arent that bad( pull the wiring harness through the firewall) You may break a few exhaust studs, and turbo studs though.
