Engine Removal Questions

Alright the engine is almost ready to come out just a couple of questions.

1. Do the oil cooler lines need to come off? Do I remove these just by removing the C clamps that hold the lines together?

2. Can I place the engine on a bench with the oil pan on or do I have to remove it before I can place on a bench?

3. Do I need to remove the clutch release cylinder if I am pulling it with the transmission still attached? Or any other hydraulic parts?

Thanks for the help

1. Just take the c-clips out and seperate the lines with a flathead screwdriver and a rubber mallet.

2. Yes, you can leave it on. Just don't drop the engine down real hard.

3. I would remove the release/slave cylinder so that you can leave the clutch hydraulic system intact and not lose any fluid.

Dont forget about ac and power steering. They need to be off the engine but not disconnected. That was pain in the *** for me when I took my engine out. I ended up junking my ac.. with the FMIC, it only caused more issues than good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to unscrew the oil line couplings from each other?

You dont have to unscrew them. Theyre just a really tight fit. Just pull real hard.
