Sometimes, when I crank up the car it rattles really loud at idle in the engine bay. It wont stop unless I turn the car off and turn it back on. Sounds like two steel clanking together in the engine, it is really loud. I was wondering anybody out there might be able to help. I have done a search, but did not find anything similar to my problem. Thanks

motor mount?

 

are you sure the noise is coming from the engine or from under the car...when my catalytic converter went bad thast exactly what it sounded like..you should get that checked out.

It seems like the car doesnt have power after 7000rpm, but anyway it could just be my imagination. Anyway I will check the motor mount and the cats to see if they are ok. Iam getting it replaced with a mp and dp soon too.

Mine does it too. The motor mounts look ok, and the cat has been gutted. I have some bad exhaust leaks and I've assumed thats the cause. I should be fixing the leaks soon, i'll let you know if that fixes it.

 

I do hope that is the exhaust problem. Because I am getting a mp and dp for it soon anyway. But I just hope my car isnt gonna die or something. It is just weird how bad it rattles, but it could be a leak. But I run a test on it tomorrow and check it out. Thanks for the help
