engine mounts
Hey Guys...
My Driver's side engine mount is cracked really badly....
How much effect does this have on a 94... ? I think this has caused
my PPF to crack as well. Should I install my engine anyways?
Or should I promply replace?
How exspensive are these to replace... ? Will older rx7 engine mounts work on 3rd gens...?
thanks for the replies jc...

I think Rotorsports racing or someone fixes them for a $100? Not for sure if its them and pricing but I heard something like that, maybe someone else knows exactly. They are expensive at the dealership, I think $275-325. If it is cracked really bad, I would replace them now rather than later. I think your PPF needs to be replaced also, since that is a major engineering part of the car. (Major engineering part for lack of technical reason
)
)
The driver's side mount has been redesinged and only cost a little over $100. It can be replaced with the engine and trans in the car. A broken mount allows the engine to rock/rotate more during use. This places greater strain on the PPF and differential mounts. Replace ASAP for improved
performance.
performance.
Your engine might leak some oil too if you have a bad engine mount. Both of mine were bad and new ones helped with the oil leak a little bit, but didn't cure the problem altogether.

We have been reconditioning the RX7 FD factory motor mounts with high density polyurethane. The process also includes sleeving the outside of the mount with an aluminum collar and using a 10mm threaded bolt and locknut. We can recondition your mounts for $140.00 each. Also in the works is an engine torque brace that will reduce the loads on the engine mounts and reduce engine twist.

More info please.
-do you guys have a website?
-where are you guys located?
-what would the turnaround time be for the mount reconditioning?
-any feedback on how well the mounts work....pros / cons?
Thanks.
Sounds good r0t0rhead. I'm guessing the torque brace is like the knightsports piece, and I believe there is a guy out there with info on how he made his as well...
I second the need for the info as well, I know a few people who are interested already...
