Engine Identification NEWB

So i'm thinking of crossing over from my Porsche 944S (88), I've got a chance to pick up a 93 really cheap with an overheated engine that has been sitting for 2 yrs. I was looking at engine cost on ebay and different sites and it seems like its definitely worth doing. Only thing is I can't tell what engine it has in it. Definitely doesn't look like a twin turbo. The VIN simply says 13B from KBB it's a 1.3L. Were all 93's dual or single turbo? The VIN is JM1FD3316P0202386 any help is greatly appreciated. Are these cars reliable daily drivers? Any unusual maintenance issues other than the apex seals? How difficult of a job is the engine replacemennt for a rotary engine. I've replaced engines before but never with a rotary type.
