Thumbs up Engine Failures : What were Some Causes/reasons given after inspection by Builder ??

I am curious to hear some reasons/Causes of engine failure given by an engine builder upon inspection of the dismantled motor. I have mine with Hayes right now which Don is doing for me...no questions asked. After inspection of the internals, he noted that I had warped housings....messed up front stat. gear all this due to what he thinks was low oil pressure or high oil temps. What do you guys think about that ?? All of this after only two years....never once overheated or ran hot at all !

I'm sorry...I didn't clarify that this is a Warranty Claim being honored by Hayes Rotory. My engine should be done in a week.

What were your symptoms? - I have had my HAYES rebuild for almost a Year now and am mostly happy with It gets 120psi oil press w/ 10-30 and pulls real strong BUT has alwas produced a lot of Startup Smoke.

Well, not so much smoke upon start up for me....however...under WOT since I got the engine had a lot of smoke ! The smoke upon start up in my case came right before my engine died...but before that no more than the usual puffy. Even til the day I pulled it still pulled strong and with good vacuum. SO, I wish you luck with your motor. Hopefully it lasts a long long time. Email me at Talvendi@cs.com if you ever have any questions about your Hayes motor.

couldn't tell you why the o-rings blew...the previous owner may be able to tell you though..

my o-rings were gone when I bought it, but I didn't know it at the time.

I had a Mazda Remanufactured put in by the local dealership. so far so good...
