Engine Dies when Warm?

Hey Guys,

So I need to poll the experts on this one:

My '93 idles at just under 2000 RPM when cold (car has been sitting for a few hours or more), however, when the engine is warm (not hot, it only has to be driven for a few minutes) and I try to start the engine the car will immediately rev to 3000 and then the RPMs will drop to under 1000 until the engine dies. I can counteract this by giving it gas for 30 seconds or so and the car returns to the normal idle but I'm curious as to why this is occurring and whether it's a symptom of a larger problem.

What are your guys' thoughts? I was thinking the TPS may need adjustment or there's a vacuum leak somewhere but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced something similar and knows the cause.

Thanks for the help boys!

Oh and if anyone is wondering what modifications I have on the car here's a list: Ryan's Site.

Click on the 'Car' section and click on the engine part of the picture, it lists the engine modifications.

I noticed you have a power FC you can check the TPS really easily with that. You can also do a sensor check.

Was the car running fine and this is a new problem?

Yes, it was running fine until 2, 3 weeks ago and this has happened consistently since then.

Did anything noticeably happen that could have caused a problem any weird sounds or something like that? Did you check TPS with PFC?

Do you still have the Idle Warmup System?
