Engine Check Light on, Codes 16, 27, seek insights

My 93 California rx7 has a check engine light on and gives me a code of 27 (metering oil pump), and a code of 16 (EGR valve). My car did have oil pressure gauge problem before the Check engine light came on, so i expect the light is on because of the EGR valve. Am i correct??? Any idea how to fix both of these problems? I could try to replace the entire EGR valve (valve, switch, actuator), but will this solve the engine light problem for sure? Any insights would greatly be appreciated.

the cali egr sensor is a 2 wire postion switch. i dont know if the switch can be purchased seperately or not does anyone? you can check the egr valve is working by suppling some vac to the valve with the engine running and the idle should bog a bit. it should also hold vac. the oil metering code will turn the cel on and prob make the car run like crap. if you are feeling industrious there is a diagnostic flowchat in the fsm you could follow.

Thanks. Yes, the car does run like crap right now. This metering oil pump problem, should i just replace the metering oil pump, since i don't have that fsm you reffered to.

it may be a wiring prob if you are lucky. check some connectors that goes for the egr as well. first ruel is always keep it simple. the omp is going to ruin your day if you try to buy it new. look in the for sale sec. glwi
