did you have many troubles installing the greddy pipe kit? I just did it and i had to modify the intercooler slightly so the lower pipe didnt hit the pulley.

I was thinking the same... All that work and still the stock IC. Priorities my boy, priorities. It looks cool though. The only problem is that when you do get an aftermarket IC, then you'll have to cut that plate, or if you get a FMIC, you'll have that cut-out left from the stock one.

Noi'm getting the SMIC greddy intercooler, so it will still fit perfectly all it will be is a lil trimming. And my priorities are reliablity and performance first, its just that i got a rebuild and since all my parts were already outof the car i decided to polish them. And i gave the idea to my dad about the plate but wasn't too serious and like 2 weeks later he brought it to my house and told me he had been working on it for those 2 weeks. so that was a freebie

Didn't you get the memo? An HKS BoV is more important that replacing the stock AST or Intercooler

Looks great, I agree that it's time to upgrade the IC.

I don't see the big deal with the intercooler, it does what its supposed to. It's when you go beyond that, is when it becomes a reliability issue.

It does a terrible job. The pressure drop is huge and it has a poor SA/Vol ratio compared to aftermarked IC's.

But you do have a blingaliscious engine bay tho you may want to get rid of the stock AST....Mine cracked at about 83k miles and sprayed all over my nice shiney aluminum and I had to spend hours Mother's-ing it getting it back to new.

That's a cool rotor cover thingy..Did you make it?

It does what it suppsed to for about 3 hard runs...then it heat soaks and doesn't do anything.

Don't listen to these guys...the engine bay looks great. I would just eliminate the AST.

Yes, eliminate or replace the AST, as far as teh IC goes keep it that way, that is fine, but if you want to go faster replace it or at least invest in a Aquamist or some type of water injection kit.

Just for your information, I've recently installed the Greddy SMIC from my stock one. Result is Black and White difference. I highly recomend doing so.

note: Upon installation of greddy smic, you will need to cut the pipe that comes after the greddy elbow. I had to chop off about 2.5in off inorder to fit them.

Ya i already have the AST ordered waiting for it to come to door. I'm about to buy a radiator too. Then i'll start moving on to performance and saving up for a Power fc.
