Engine Bay Cleaning

I was cleaning my engine bay and noticed that all of the rubber hoses have what appears to be dried/crystalized antifreeze. I think this happened when I had a pin hole in one of my coolant hoses that sprayed a fine mist of coolant over the engine bay. What is the best thing to use to remove the coolant residue? I tried using simple green and a nylon brush but it's not coming off. Any suggestions on cleansers or methods of removing the residue would be greatly appreciated.

I had a coolant mist dirty up my hoses once. Try wiping them down with a terry cloth wetted with some WD-40 and dressing them up with any product that restores blackness to rubber. That should take care of any whitish stains.

Maybe some armor all or rubber/tire dressing?

I'd use some sort of tire dressing before the Armor All. I can't remember what I used one time that started to discolor and eventually looked white because it wasn't meant to withstand the high heat of our FD engine compartments.
