emissions removal ?'s

Okay, I am putting my reman back together. I have the turbos and LIM buttoned on. I live in Neb without emissions, but my car was from CA. I have read up on the TB coolant line removal, and am not that concerned about getting rid of it. What benefits (besides cleaning things up) do I have in removing the emissions equipment? I have all the block off plates I need to do it, and being a CA car, I will need to use resistors to prevent a CE light. Is there a reason besides the clean factor as to why I should remove it all?

I have a box that weighs about 5 pounds full of just solenoids, vaccuum lines, and other small emissions crap from mine. That doesnt include the air pump or cat. So maybe its a weight savings mod
