Electrical problem

I have a problem with my ignition/general electrics in the car.

When I start the engine it runs fine, but when I turn the key off and remove the key the engine is still running and i have to pull the EGI fuse to stop it from running.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you sure you don't have a turbo timer? Maybe one from a previous owner?

Thats a good point, my alarm might have one built in.

It never used to do it, I have just dropped the engine back in it and now it does it, but the battery has been off so might have re-set the alarm.

This happened to me... It's prob not the alarm. Try removing the Relay next to the Main Relay in the Relay box right by the power steering unit. I've had mine off for 9 months. Turns of everytime now..

Pulling the fuse / relay is only a bandage. Figuring out the root cause is the main problem.

found the problem, it was a turbo timer hidden under the dash

Now my rev counter has a mind of its own, also the oil pressure light flicks on and off but the oil pressure is fine.
