Electrical Demons - Spooky
1994 RX-7, 3 Year Old Battery, Infrequently driven vehicle
Driving to store last night to charge up the battery the seat belt light and buzzer came on intermittently after a few miles of driving. I fastened my seat belt and all was well and I chalked it up to the cold weather and a sticky sensor.
Got home and parked the car in the garage. Here is where it gets bizarre.
I went back in the garage and noticed the parking lights were flashing intermittently. They then stopped and I went back inside a little puzzled. I went back a couple of times and witnessed the same behavior. They would flash weakly, the rear brighter than the front a few times then stop. I engaged the 4-way flashers and they flashed properly then I disengaged them and everything seemed fine. I rechecked a few times and they no longer appeared to be mysteriously flashing.
About an hour later I hear the horn going off! I rush to the garage and not only is the horn blaring but the headlights popped up and were on! Just the headlights, no taillights. I popped the hood and after a few seconds the headlights shut off and retracted and then the horn stopped. Now I am really puzzled. I went to look for the owners manual to identify some fuzes to pull and then the horn went off again. I rushed back to the garage and the headlights came on as I walked into the garage and then the high beams began to flash!
At this point I pulled the battery cable.
I have never had any problems with this car. It is garage kept. There was just a little corrosion on the battery. My wife passed away a year ago and I did start dating again. Yikes!
Anyone have any ideas at all?

Thanks. I suspected battery though the car started right up with absolutely no problem. No indication the battery was failing. Plus, I have had batteries go in the past and have never experienced these kinds of weird symptoms.
If it is just the battery I will count my blessings. Electrical problems usually spell big $$$$!
Thanks again.

Headlights up and down with horn going off is the car alarm. Could be poor grounding, or bad connections b through the doors that go to the switch's the alarm monitors, just have to start eliminating theings one at a time.
