An EGT comparison between cars doesn't have much value because there are so many variables. It is only of use as a comparison tool for your own car, ie, when tuning.

Not really, it depends on where the sensor is located. Even an inch difference can make a big difference in readings between cars. The EGT is really not all that helpful (even though I have one.... the most worthless addition I've made to my car).

If you are really concerned about your A/F ratio, do it right. Check it with a wideband O2.
